It seems that everyone is trying to be someone that they’re not. A stroll down the hair care aisle at the local pharmacy shows a curious phenomenon. Why is it that curly haired people buy flat irons and people with straight hair curling irons? Blonds want to be brunettes, red heads blonds you get the point. What ever happened to being yourself?
Not only is being yourself a great way to increase your self-esteem, but also a great business strategy. Apple didn’t make millions by wanting to be Microsoft. They aren’t the cheapest, one computer per person in the US, mass available product, and they are ok with it. In fact, they are more than ok with it which is the peg they hang their brand hat on. Take a moment, close your eyes and think back to why you started your business. What are you good at? What sets you apart? What makes you special? Now be proud of who you are.
