A few weeks ago I wrote a post regarding a massive technology failure at Lowe’s in their attempt at a Facebook Pre-Black Friday Party which overwhelmed the Lowe’s servers and took down their site.

Over the remainder of that weekend, Lowe’s righted the ship and continued on with the event. After the initial hiccups, there were a few minor glitches but nothing like the massive failure on the night of the event. I’m certain that this event was limited and over time, will not have a negative impact on the brand, just a few angry customers at the start of the party.

It will be interesting to see over the next few years other organizations that attempt similar feats and how those work out.
