Always a source for reliable social media statistics, Men’s Health recently released their findings for the most socially networked cities. One may think that the great state of California would reign supreme on this top 10 list, being the home of Facebook and Google+. Surprisingly, only one California city cracked the top 10 (San Francisco at number 6), and what was even more surprising was that Atlanta was ranked second and Washington DC was ranked first.
Men’s Health got the figures by delving into Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter usage per capita, as well as Reddit and Digg usage. While the findings may be up for debate, one thing is certainly clear: people are using social media en-masse, whether to share holiday plans, or as an extension of customer service. That’s all the more reason why your business needs a social media presence and an active social media campaign for 2012.
