How much do you spend on local marketing? According to Balihoo’s study 47.3% of national brands plan to spend more on local marketing in 2013 than they did in 2012. 44% of national brands plan on spending the same next year while 8.6% plan to cut back on local marketing in 2013.

So far in 2012, 67.5% of respondents to this study have stated that their brands will be placing an emphasis on digital marketing in 2013 because it is extremely important to their local efforts. Currently brands are using twitter and linkedin (75.5%), Facebook, and search engine optimization. National brands are expected to place more digital marketing efforts towards mobile marketing (adding 3.4%), local blogs (adding 5.5%) and online customer reviews (adding 8.9%).
