Many have said that social networking is “fake” networking and that people turn to twitter, Facebook, and even text messages as a way for insecure people to hide behind technology. That may be the case some of the time but it seems that social networks are getting more social everyday. The below graph from e-marketer shows an interesting trend in social networking statistics. An increasing number of people are switching from email to social networks as their most often used form of written communication.
Naysayers take note, the social aspect of “social” networks seems to be on the rise and those who choose not to make themselves available in this space are inevitably going to get left out. Has any one seen my fountain pen and stationary?
